The next day, Kay`s phone rang, "Hello?" she asked.
"Hey it`s me," Sid said.
"What`s up?"
"Are you busy today?"
"No why?"
"Do you want to hang out?"
"Sure, what do you wanna do?"
"I was thinking we could go down to the arena & you could show me how good of a hockey player you are."
"Sure, is there some special reason for this?"
"Well we`re not gonna be able to hangout for a while `cause we got a long road trip starting tomorrow."
"Oh, so you gonna pick me up?"
"Yep."
"When ya gonna get here?"
"I`m kind of already in your driveway," He said with a laugh.
"Ok, do I need to bring anything?”
"Nope everything you`ll need is down at the arena."
Kay went down to Sid`s car & got in, "Hi baby."
"Hey," He said then kissed her.
They drove down to the Mellon & went into the locker room. Kay put on all my gear, (chest protector, shin pads, elbow pads, hockey pants, leg covers, skates, helmet & gloves) then put on a warm up jersey.
They Sid & I went out to the ice & to get warmed up they skated around for a while.
"Ok, to see how good you are we`re gonna scrimmage," Sid said after they both stopped at center ice.
"How there`s no goalies?"
"Oh really, come on out guys." Marc-André & Sebastien came out of the visitor’s locker room. "Ok now there`s goalies, which one do you want?"
"I don`t know I like them both I don`t want to be mean."
"Ok, Marc-André you`re with Kay, Sebastien you`re with me."
Marc-André & Sebastien skated to their nets, stretched a little, & scraped up their creases.
"Ok, before we start we`re gonna need some refs."
"Oh no I hate refs." Kay said.
"Well these guys aren`t really refs they`re guys who actually know what they`re talking about."
"Ok, who are they?"
"Alright guys."
“Ok, now we can start.”
Well she beat Sid 3-1 & after the scrimmage they went over & sat on the bench.
“You played good,” Sid said with a smile.
“Good?” She asked.
“Ok, you did really good.”
“Thank you, you were good too.” She leaned in & kissed him. After about 15 minutes, then Edzo came out onto the ice. “Sid, plans have changed we`re leaving in two hours, so go home, pack, & be at the airport in an hour & a half.”
. “Ok.” Sid & Kay went out to his car & he drove her home. “Sorry I had to bring you home so early.”
“It`s ok.”
“Ok, I`ll call you tomorrow.”
“Ok, bye.”
“Bye.” He kissed her then left.
She went into the house & looked at her Pens schedule; Sid was going to be gone for ten days. Ten days that she could only talk & not see.
