SiDi [A Sidney Crosby Story] Two; The Call

The next day right when Kay walked out of school she turned her phone on. When she was waiting with Nikki & Andrea at the bus stop her phone rang.
"Hello."
"Hi is this Kailey Schwartz?"
"Yes it is, may I ask who`s calling?"
"This is Sidney Crosby, I`m calling on behalf of your tryout yesterday." There was a pause. "I`m pleased to say that the staff thought you were great & would like you to sing at some up coming games."
"Ok thanks," She said in a sad tone.
"I`ll call you later."
"Good-bye."
"That didn`t sound good, what`s up?" Nikki asked.
She started out seriously, "I, they like my singing & I can sing at some games."
"That`s great," Andrea said.
"I know& that wasn`t some ordinary person from the arena calling to tell me, it was Sid & he`s going to call me back later."
"Cool, so did he say when they want you to sing?" Nikki asked.
"No, I think someone else will do that."
Since it was a Friday Kay was at Nikki`s house watching TV at about eight-thirty her phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Hey Kay it`s Sid, I was wondering if you were doing anything tomorrow?"
"Not that I know of, other than watching the game."
"Ok, well would you like to go to the game instead of watching it on TV?"
"Well I would love to, but I don`t have a ticket or any money to buy one."
"You don`t need to, see I talked to some people & I convinced them that you would be ready by then."
"Ready for what exactly?"
"Ready to sing."
"Whoa, wait me sing tomorrow? But I only tried out yesterday."
"Yes, but you`re good & we always have the same people sing, so we could use a new face."
"Ok, what time should I get there?"
"I`ll pick you up at about four-thirty ok?"
"Ok, where am I gonna sit?"
"Does right behind the bench sound ok?"
"That sounds great."
"I`ll see you tomorrow."
"Bye."
"Who was that?" Nikki asked.
"Oh, that was Sid."
"What did he say?" Andrea asked.
"That I`m gonna sing at the game tomorrow & get to sit behind the bench."
"Are you serious?" Nikki asked.
"Yeah."
"That`s awesome, but Go Canada," Andrea said with a smile.
